NHPC hands over Cold Chain Equipments to Govt

Jammu, Apr 4 Under CSR initiatives, NHPC handed over second lot of cold chain equipment at Srinagar to the Govt. of J&K for all universal immunisation programme vaccines at the public health centre level. NHPC has decided to provide Cold Chain Equipment such as - walk in freezer, ice lined refrigerator and deep freezer costing about 1.6 Crore to the State Immunization Officer, Deptt. of Health & Family Welfare, Srinagar, Govt. of J&K. NHPC is fully discharging its social responsibility in the UT along with generation of power and has been doing various welfare activities. The activity of providing cold chain equipment under CSR & SD initiative to the Govt. of J&K for the storage and distribution of Covid -19 vaccines has been taken up on war footings by NHPC. A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC Limited said in his message that NHPC always spends its CSR & SD Fund for the welfare of the people. The cold chain equipment provided by NHPC will help in prevention of Corona virus in the UT. He said that Scientists around the world had been working on possible treatments and vaccines for the new Corona virus and after tireless efforts, they invented the vaccine to prevent corona. Now, It is our duty to develop necessary infrastructure for Vaccination of the needy people. He hoped that we would soon be able to defeat and eliminate this virus.
