DSS welcomes decision to keep a Mini Secretarial functional at Jammu

Y B News Jammu, Apr 02 Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and President Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS), has welcomed the decision to keep a Mini Secretarial functional at Jammu and reduce the quantum of record required to be shifted to Srinagar as a result of egovernance initiatives taken by the Government. He, however, emphasised that it is essential that functionaries at a sufficiently higher level in each administrative department continue to function at Jammu to attend to the problems of the people who virtually feel abandoned during these six months, as it is difficult for the people of Jammu to go to Srinagar for the follow up of urgent issues. He said that such technology is already available that if the matters pertaining to Jammu Province are processed in the Secretariat here, the approval/ final orders of the Advisors and/or the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor can be obtained on line even when they move to Srinagar. By keeping the Secretariat fully functional at both Jammu as well as Srinagar, the people of both the provinces of the Union Territory will have the means available, round the year, for resolution of their problems.
