NCC resumes its training activities in J&K

Jammu, Feb 28 As the life is gradually resuming normalcy post widespread of pandemic Covid 19, JK&L Directorate of National Cadet Corps has sprung into action. Several of the NCC activities for the young male and female cadets throughout the Union Territories of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh have been resumed under the aegis of NCC Directorate. As a part of the ongoing training process 1 J&K Naval Unit from Group Headquarters NCC, Srinagar is conducting a Combined Annual Training Camp at NCC Camping Ground Nagrota after a prolonged halt in Training due to Abrogation of Art 370 and subsequent pandemic Covid 19. Around 300 male Cadets and 100 female Cadets from various colleges spread across all the districts of Jammu & Kashmir region are participating in the ten days long camp from 22 Feb – 03 Mar 2021. All the necessary guidelines in terms of Covid 19 including conduct of Covid test for all the participants have been adhered to ensure a smooth conduct of events. As a part of training curriculum in NCC Camps, guest lectures and practical training classes are Coordinated on essential topics which influence Society or have a direct bearing on the youth of our Nation. In this regard a guest lecture on the rapidly influencing menace of Drug Abuse was conducted by Social Activist and avid campaigner against Drug Abuse, Mr Chandan Datta, Chairman Kotli Colony Welfare trust. A documentary named “Kaali Subah” by Suman Kesar Production, on the subject of Drug Abuse was also screened on the occasion. The interaction remained extremely beneficial to the Cadets as several essential details about the spread and affects of Drug menace on our lives and Society were shared by the Guest Speaker. Cadets pledged to spread awareness against Drug abuse and also to refrain from getting lured by those who misguide youth towards this life threatening menace of Drugs. NCC being the largest uniformed Youth Org in the world plays a pivotal role in building and enhancing the young lives. The core objectives of NCC include building Sound Character, including Discipline , Comradeship, selflessness with a most secular outlook.
