Enraged by classmate's friendship, student strangles her to death

Hyderabad, Feb 25 In yet another appalling incident, a second-year college student was brutally murdered by a man whose advances she had rejected in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur on Wednesday. According to reports, the deceased Anusha was a student of Krishnaveni Private Degree College in Narasaraopet. The accused Vishnuvardhan Reddy, studying in the same college, was unhappy about Anusha’s friendship with another classmate and took her to a secluded place on the pretext of having a chat. Reddy had an argument with Anusha and in a fit of rage, strangled her to death and dumped her body in a canal near Palapada. Later, he surrendered before the Narasaraopet police. The police registered a case in the matter and are investigating. Meanwhile, students and family members gathered in large numbers and staged a protest, demanding stringent action against the accused.
