Army organises friendly cricket match in Chirala area of Doda

Bhaderwah, Feb 24 To help residents of far off areas to come out of the psychological impact of the prolonged lockdown and to promote talent of youth in even the remotest of areas to help them ascertain themselves, 4 Rashtriya Rifles organised a friendly cricket match at Village Sewa in Chirala area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district. The cricket match in far off area of the hilly district was primarily aimed at to restart outdoor activities which remain suspended due Covid-19 pandemic and to facilitate the village youth by providing them a platform to showcase their raw talent and to groom them in a proper way. The troops of 4RR, Indian Army posted at Ghosti organised friendly cricket matches between Bajja 11 and Doda 11 at sewa village. The event was also aimed at strengthening the ties between Indian Army and locals. In closely fought 20 over contest, Doda eleven won the match by defeating Bajja eleven in the last over. Beside presenting trophies and cash prize to the teams and players who excelled in the tournament, Army also distributed bats among the local cricketers. It is notable to mention here that Army has been organising different sporting events under operation Sadbhavana to promote physical activity among youth and to divert their energy towards a positive direction.
