Ahmedabad, Feb 23 Former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir believes that Team India should go ahead with the pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj for the much-anticipated pink-ball Test that begins in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. On Monday, Umesh Yadav was added to the squad for the last two Tests after he cleared his fitness test, but Gambhir does not see the pacer get a spot in the crucial Ahmedabad Test. “I don’t see Umesh Yadav in the playing XI. If India has to go with three seamers, it has to be Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. “Siraj looks very impressive and the way he bowled in Australia, even the way he bowled in the second Test match, there was nothing for the fast bowlers but the way he was getting the ball to move and the kind of speeds he was clocking, he was very impressive. So, these three seamers according to me will play the pink-ball Test match,” Gambhir said on the show Cricket Connected. With the four-match Test series levelled at 1-1 and with a place in the World Test Championship at stake, the Ahmedabad Test becomes extremely crucial for both the teams as they look to play New Zealand in the inaugural final in Lords.
