Army establishes stitching center for women folk

Poonch, Feb 23 With an aim towards imparting skills and creating job opportunities for locals especially for women, Army unit established a stitching center for women folk at village Bafliaz in District Poonch. A six month vocational course on “Stitching and Tailoring” for 50 women folk is organised with an aim to provide job opportunities for womens in the region and all successful participants will be awarded with a certificate from National Skill Development Council (NSDC). The Army has aligned its efforts to the initiatives of State and Central Government and focused on conduct of accredited courses with recognised certification which will help the youth optimally utilising the opportunities offered. This initiative not only will generate employment for these women, staying in a backward area but also gives an opportunity to display their skills and earn a livelihood for themselves and support to their families. The womens and local people are visibly happy with the initiative and thankful to the Army for enabling them to enhance employment opportunities.
