Army organizes driving and traffic awareness programme

Jammu, Feb 23 Indian Army unit located at Bhadarwah organized “Driving and Traffic Awareness Programme” at Khellani. Due to sudden increase in road accidents in Battalion area of responsibility, a need was felt to take up an initiative for road traffic safety and awareness drive. Indian Army unit at Bhadarwah in association with Traffic Police and JKP carried out a traffic awareness drive, Monday at main market, Khellani. Amongst those present were Mohammad Iqbal (SI) and 05 traffic police alongwith 73 civilians of which 46 were drivers. Drivers were informed about road symbols and road etiquettes. Mohammad Ikbal (SI), JKP traffic police informed the drivers about the road marking and safety measures like wearing of seat belts, helmet and to avoid drunken driving. He also informed about the offences related to road safety & the penalties thereof.
