At 22, AAP's Payal Patel becomes youngest corporator elected to Surat municipal corporation

Ahmedabad, Feb 23 Payal Patel (22) of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has become the youngest person to have been elected to the Surat municipal corporation as a corporator. An actor before her foray into politics, Payal Patel was the AAP's candidate from the Poorna (West) - ward number 16. After her victory, Payal Patel was received by locals with much fanfare on Tuesday. In a tweet on January 31, Payal Patel had said, "I held a meeting in Narayan Nagar Society of my ward Surat ward number 16 and awakened the people." "Now Aam Aadmi Party is going to the society and going door to door to sensitize the voters and the voters will now cast their vote against corruption. Thus, enthusiasm is being seen among the people regarding the Aadmi Party.
