Army organises traffic rule awareness campaign

Kishtwar, Feb 22 Indian Army undertook a initiative of organising “Traffic Rule Awareness Campaign” at Padhyarna, Kishtwar. The campaign was organised to educate and create awareness amongst locals about the importance of road safety. There has been a substantial increase in vehicular traffic on Kishtwar - Dul -Gulabgarh - Sansari road and due to lack of sufficient knowledge of traffic rules there has also been an exponential increase in number of road accidents. A campaign was thus launched to inculcate defensive driving behavior and enhance traffic safety consciousness by distributing of more than 280 pamphlets. Army also appealed to the public to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and also stay away from using mobile phones while driving. The campaign was highly appreciated by the population of nearby villages who requested to organise more such events in future.
