Kolkata, Feb 22 Amid a series of star entries into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, its Kolkata zone co-convenor, Shanku Deb Panda, on Monday had 'chai pe charcha' with popular Bengali actor Arindam Sil. Shanku Deb Panda took to Twitter and posted a picture with Arindam Sil with the caption, "Aaj bikele Arindam dar shaathe shonge chai pe charcha [Tête-àtête over tea with Arindam da]". Not just this, Shanku Deb Panda also wrote that they both also discussed "sonar Bangla". "Aaj bikele Arindam dar shonge chai pe charcha. Alochana holo sonar Bangla niye o [Tête-à-tête over tea with Arindam da. Also discussed Sonar Bangla]," Shanku Deb Panda's tweet in Bengali read. Interestingly, Sil is considered to be close to West Bengal chief minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee. The BJP has been going all out in poll-bound West Bengal in a bid to overthrow the incumbent Trinamool Congress (TMC) government with the promise of turning the state into "sonar Bangla". Recently, Bengali superstar Yash Dasgupta joined the BJP. Dasgupta joined the BJP in presence of the party's West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP national vice-president Mukul Roy and Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Dasgupta on February 17. A day later, in another setback for the ruling TMC government, actor Hiran Chatterjee joined the BJP. Chatterjee had recently quit the TMC. leader Mamata Banerjee. Abhishek Banerjee, who is a Lok Sabha member, wields considerable influence in the party and has been leading the Trinamool Congress' counterattack.
