Bengaluru, Feb 21 Bengaluru Police has busted a gang of 'upscale' chain snatchers who believe it or not, flew down from Delhi to Bengaluru each time to rob people of their gold chains. Once they were done, members of the gang would fly back to Delhi, officials familiar with the investigation team. A team led by DCP (Northeast) CK Baba apprehended six members of this gang less than 48 hours after they committed a chain-snatching. The entire gang was in Bengaluru on February 14, planning and executing multiple chain-snatchings in the city's northeast area. Their plan was to fly back to Delhi on February 16. However, CCTV footage from the scene of the crimes along with the police's network of local informers led to their arrest before they were to leave for the airport. "The gang from Delhi comprises Suresh Kumar, Hasin Khan, Irshad, Saleem, Afroz and the sixth accused Haris is from Kerala. They are habitual offenders and have around 25-27 cases registered against them in Delhi, including under provisions of the Arms Act," DCP (Northeast) CK Baba said.
