Jammu, Jan 24 BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today lambasted West Bengal chief minister Mamta Banerjee for insulting the culture of the nation by taking exception to the chanting of Jai Shri Ram at a function in Kolkota to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Chugh said Lord Ram represented the concept to "Ram Rajya" besides being a venerated figure of our culture and by taking offence to Jai Shri Ram slogans she had demonstrated her hatred towards the cultural values and traditions of the country. In a statement, Chugh said Mamta seemed to be worried and rattled with the increasing popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP in West Bengal so she is restoring to cheap politics. "Instead of paying her tribute to Netaji she tried to score cheap political points", he said while questioning why Mamat or her party had never thought of Subhash Chandra Bose earlier in the past. While the prime minister paid rich and honourable tribute to Netaji, Mamta could not help stooping to low level of politics which was a clear indication of her nervousness in the face of increasing popularity of the Prime Minister.
