'Will take proper care': Shivraj comes to rescue of 5-year-old with rare anal disorder

Bhopal, Jan 19 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday extended help to a fiveyear- old child who has been suffering from a rare anal disorder since birth. As per doctors, the child, a resident of Rajgarh district, was born without an anus. He has already undergone two surgeries but his problem persists. Due to his medical condition, the child is unable to answer nature's call like other children. For the past several days, he was admitted to the Hamidiya Hospital in Bhopal. Following the chief minister's intervention, he has now been shifted to AIIMS, Bhopal for better treatment. His father, Gopal Chaurasiya said the family learnt about this medical condition after twothree days of his son's birth because he had not excreted till then. When the family took the child to a doctor, they found that he was born without an anus. Since then, the child has undergone two surgeries. Gopal Chaurasiya said his family does not have the financial strength to meet the medical expenses for his son's treatment. "We have already spent about 2.5 lakh in the past five years. Every time we take him to a doctor, we are hopeful that his problem will be resolved. But even after two surgeries, his problem persists. It is heart-breaking to see my child in this condition," Gopal Chaurasiya said. On hearing about the child's condition, a Twitter user Chetan Bhargav appealed to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to help the family.
