Commissioner Secretary visits NCC Camp

Jammu, Jan 17 “The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.” A seven days ATC J4 Camp is organized by 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC Jammu at Camping Ground, Nagrota, w.e.f. from 12 Jan 2021 to 18 Jan 202. To boost the spirit of cadets, the future warriors of India, Mr Talat Parvez Rohilla, the Hon’ble Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Department, UT of JK & Ladakh, visited the ongoing camp on 17th of January 2021. Pertinent to mention here, J&K is the first state in India to start camps for NCC cadets during the present pandemic, with due cooperation from civil administration and army authorities. This is the 6th such camp in the series. The schedule of the chief guest included a meeting with the principals of various degree colleges, an interaction with the Associate NCC Officers, Care Taker Officers and Cadets. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss how to inculcate the spirit of truthfulness and dedication amongst the cadets and the teachers. He said that the cadets are like rivers originating from the mountains, and it becomes the duty of the organization to channelize their energies into a right direction so that they can be used for the growth of the nation and if they get deviated from the right track, it may lead to destruction. During his deliberations with the cadets, he exhorted upon the vital role played by NCC in inculcating the qualities of discipline, leadership, comradeship, team spirit and national integration in forging the cadets into dynamic and responsible citizens of country. He also congratulated the cadets as they have additional expansion of vacancies to 4420 for the schools and colleges of border areas as announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 15 August 2020. He appreciated the efforts made by the parents, teachers, ANOs, heads of various educational institutions, and 2 J&K Girls Bn, Jammu at par to provide this opportunity to students in the present times of pandemic. The NCC not only shapes the character and destiny of a student, but also helps them to come out of their cocoons and look upon them as a soldier, a useful citizen of the country. The visit was culminated with high tea wherein the chief guest interacted with the gathering in the camp.
