2 J&K Bn conduct lecture for NCC cadets

Jammu, Jan 15 2 J&K GIRLS BN, NCC Jammu organized a guest lecture on “Women Empowerment and Career scope in Defence forces for Women” . The Guest Speaker, Col A K Mohanty, Col Education, commenced the session by appreciating involvement of girl cadets in nation building. He also applauded cadets volunteer participation in various social activities like Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Digital India Campaign, regular cleaning of historical statues and monuments, celebration of Ek Bharat Sresth Bharat, National Integration Week, Vigilance Week, celebration of NCC Day, National Harmony week, Constitution Day, Swachhta Pakhwaada, etc. He emphasized on women empowerment that is aimed for creation of environment where women can live fearlessly, independently and have equal opportunities. The forces provide equal and dignified career opportunities to women to experience freedom from self-doubt and negative thoughts about oneself. In his one hour presentation, he highlighted the capabilities of the Indian Army and explained the different career scopes in Armed forces for girl cadets and how they can further help in nation building. He also talked about some of the great women achievers who are a part of the toughest bastions of human endeavour and endurance. He also signified the importance to think equal on innovative ways and motivated them to choose armed forces as a career to feel pride in nation building. He also elaborated about the procedures and requirements to join the forces. The speaker also interacted with the Associate NCC Officers and Care Taker Officers and guided them on how to assist the girl cadets in their upliftment and empowerment. The lecture was effective and the cadets were highly satisfied and enthused at the end of this informative session. The cadets felt quite confident and enlightened after the lecture. The guest speaker, officers and other staff members along with the cadets later gathered for high tea in the mess area.
