Army organizes Youth Festival

Poonch, Jan 15 The youth plays a great role in nation building. It has the power to help a country develop and move on rd of progress. It is also responsible for bringing social reforms within a country. Youth empowerment can curb the rate of poverty to a large extent. When a young mind is equipped with zeal and creativity, he can achieve the desired result. Indian Army organised the Youth Festival (GK Quiz Competition) at Govt Degree College, Mandi in Poonch District (J&K). Students exhibited their knowledge at GK Quiz. Although, due to COVID- 19, event was organised at a lesser scale than normal but it's popularity amongst the College students was still the same. A total of 07 Girls, 08 Boys and 08 Teachers alongwith Principal of Degree College, Mandi participated in the event. The aim of the competition was that such extracurricular activities like this will certainly provide a platform to the students to showcase their knowledge and talent. The students were felicitated for their stupendous efforts. Organising such events will go a long way in developing goodwill amongst local populace and lay the foundation of a patriotic and integrated next generation of India. Thereafter, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering that comprised of 07 Girls, 08 Boys ,08 Teachers and Principal of Degree College, Mandi of Poonch district. The Chief Guest then distributed prizes to the students and the students performed various cultural programmes at the culmination of the said event.
