Food not given on time, 2 Rottweilers maul man to death, rip ears apart

New Delhi, Jan 14 A58-year-old man was mauled to death by two pet Rottweilers in a farm near Chidambaram in Cuddalore district on Tuesday. The deceased, K Jeevanantham, used to feed the dogs in the morning regularly but had got to feeding them late on Tuesday, when he was attacked. K Jeevanantham of Vallampadugai village in Cuddalore had reportedly been working on a farm, owned by a Congress functionary N Vijayasundaram, spread across 10 acres at Puduboolamedu since 2013. According to the Times of India report, Vijayasundaram bought two Rottweiler dogs three years ago and raised them on the farm to boost security and assist Jeevanantham in protecting the crops. Jeevanantham usually fed the dogs as soon as he reached the farm in the morning but on Tuesday, he went to feed the pets a little later than usual, police said. "On Tuesday, though he reached the farm as usual, he went to feed the pets just before leaving the farm in the evening, when the dogs went berserk and attacked him," media quoted a police officer as saying.
