Mumbai, Jan 13 Mumbai's crorepati paan seller, Muchhad Paanwala was released on a bail surety of Rs 15,000 on Wednesday. One of the brothers who run the famous Muchhad Paanwala shop, Jaishankar Tiwari was arrested by the NCB earlier this week in connection with a drug-related case. Tiwari landed on the Narcotics Control Bureau's radar following the arrest of a British national and two women from Bandra. At least 200 kgs of imported marijuana strains were recovered during the raids. In his defence, the British national claimed that the seized contraband was meant for herbal cigarettes for his customers. The probe resulted in NCB questioning Jaishankar Tiwari on Monday. Part-owner of the 'Muchhad Paanwala' shop in South Mumbai's Kemp Corner, he was arrested and sent to judicial custody by a magistrate court in Mumbai. Interestingly, the NCB decided against seeking Jaishankar Tiwari's custody in court. According to the NCB, the British national arrested from Bandra was using a factory in Uttar Pradesh to mix tobacco infused with CBD oil and crushed marijuana. This was then being sold to high-profile customers in Mumbai and other parts of the country as an Herbal product. Following the British national's arrest, NCB raided Jaishankar Tiwari's stall at Bhulabhai Desai Road and seized 500 gms of the contraband. Officials alleged that the British national had handed over the product to Muchhad Paanwala free of cost. The drug enforcement agency decided not to seek Jaishankar Tiwari's custody since the quantity of contraband recovered from him was only of consumable size.
