Mumbai, Jan 13 Even as Tamil Nadu inches closer towards the 2021 Assembly election, uncertainty prevails over the AIADMK’s alliance partners. The BJP state in-charge recently said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy will be the alliance’s CM candidate. "They are the major partners. In Tamil Nadu state, AIADMK is the major partner. They will decide who their next chief ministerial candidate is,” CT Ravi said. But the worry is still there for the ruling party as another ally of the AIADMK, Pattali Makkal Katchi, has not committed to an alliance. PMK’s founder S Ramadoss took to Twitter and said his party will not hold any alliance talks with the AIADMK until their demand for reservation for Vanniyar community is fulfilled. The PMK, a Vanniyar-community based party, has been demanding 20 per cent sub-quota for the community in education and jobs. Recently, the members of the community also staged road and rail roko in the state in connection with their demand of 20 per cent reservation. Ramadoss’s statement that alliances will not be formed with AIADMK till this demand is fulfilled came hours after senior AIADMK ministers - SP Velumani and P Thangamani - met the PMK chief at his residence in Villupuram district. Only the Vanniyar reservation issue was discussed, Ramadoss said on his social media account, and added that there was no discussion on politics or elections.
