Army organizes student development programme

Waseen butt Kishtwar, Jan 12 Indian Army has been actively involved in conducting Counter Insurgency/ Counter Terrorists ops in far flung areas of Kishtwar (J&K) alongwith various perception management activities with an aim to mitigate hardships of people living in remote areas. These areas lack basic infra for education, which hinders the overall development of youth of this area. To give basic amenities for education and fulfil basic fundamental rights of every Children in India, a noble initiative in form of “Student Development Programme” has been planned by Directorate of School Education in collaboration with Indian Army. The programme is expected to benefit around 100 students of the remote areas of Chhatru Sub Division. Programme encompasses four phases which commenced with Phase-I (conduct of basic coaching classes) and will terminate with Phase-IV (skill development). Programme is a continuous cycle which not only will educate youths but make them self-reliant. Such collaborative efforts will be a game changer for overall development of Chhatru Sub Division. Event was inaugurated by Brigadier Pranab Misra, Commander 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifles along with Mr. Roshan Lal (Joint Director of School Education). Such event not only brings tranquillity and peace in the area but also channelize youth energy in right direction for greater good of the society. The event is marked as stepping stone for development of area and is highly appreciated by the locals and civil administration
