New Delhi, Jan 11 Congress president Sonia Gandhi will soon meet leaders of prominent Opposition parties to formulate joint strategy over ongoing farmers' agitation ahead of the upcoming Parliament session which will commence from January 29. A national media has learnt that the Congress Party wants to corner Modi government in both Houses over farmers' issue in the soon-to-begin Budget Session. Learning a lesson from the Monsoon Session, during which the Congress failed to make an impact in Lok Sabha given its low strength in the house, the party now wants entire Opposition to join ranks to take on the ruling NDA over the issue. ''Congress Party will soon hold a formal or informal meeting with leaders of like-minded parties and discuss a joint strategy on farmer's issues,'' a senior party leader told India Today TV. Given its low strength in the Lok Sabha, Congress will join ranks with regional forces like the DMK, TMC and TRS to take on the government. During the Monsoon Session, Congress failed to match the aggression of the ruling NDA while the three crucial farm bills were pushed through. In Rajya Sabha, the Opposition parties had fared better and managed to create ruckus over the government's attempt to steamroll the farm bills bypassing the laid down procedures. "Congress party think tank feels that a well thought out strategy ahead of the session will work well for the Opposition and hence the meeting will take place soon," added the senior leader. Congress Party will also very soon come up with a 20-page booklet on the farmers' agitation. A senior party leader told India Today TV that the booklet will "expose" Modi government's new farm reforms.
