Drug peddler held; psychotropic substances recovered

Sopore, Jan 11 January 11: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Sopore have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession. Officers at a checkpoint established at Ladoora Crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Qaiser Ahmad Dar resident of Ladoora Rafiabad. During checking, officers were able to recover 12 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and 4 strips of Spasmoproxyvon Plus from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Dangiwacha where he remains in custody. Accordingly, case FIR No. 09/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation in the matter has been initiated. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
