New Delhi, Dec 2 Rohit Sharma has not featured in the ODI series against Austalia but that did not stop him from extending a memorable streak into the 8th year for India in the 50-over format of the game. Rohit finishes 2020 with the highest score in ODIs for India as none of the India batsmen got to a three-figure score in the ongoing ODI series against Australia in Australia. Rohit Sharma's 119 against Australia in Bengaluru on January 19 remains the highest ODI score by an Indian in 2020. Hardik Pandya's 92 in the highest score for an India player in the ongoing ODI series against Australia. R o h i t Sharma was left out of India's ODI squad as the India opener is yet to completely recover from a hamstring injury he picked up during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Despite returning to play for Mumbai Indians in the play-offs and the final, Rohit did not travel to Australia as he returned to India after his father fell ill. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rested him for the upcoming T20I series as well and said his fitness will be a s - sessed on December 11. Rohit is u n - likely to feature i n the first 2 Tests of the much-anticipated Test series, starting December 17 in Adelaide. There was confusion regarding Rohit Sharma's availability and India captain Virat Kohli spoke about it to the press in the lead up to the ODI series. "... there has been lack of clarity, we have been playing the waiting game on this issue and this is not ideal at all," Kohli had said. Meanwhile, former India batsman VVS Laxman opened up on the issue, saying there should have more clarity on the Rohit Sharma situation. "I feel that in the first place he (Rohit Sharma) should have been selected and the communication gap is something which is disappointing," Laxman said Star Sports show Cricket Connected. "I am really surprised because in this age of communication where there are so many WhatsApp groups, there’s usually a group mail which goes around, I’m sure a group between the team management, the chairman of the selection committee and the in-charge of the medical team of the BCCI."
