New Delhi, Dec 1 India batsman Shreyas Iyer is overwhelmed about the Australian team coming up with a special plan of using the 'short ball' against him in the first two ODIs of the 3-match series. Iyer said that the short balls can be tackled by adopting a counter-offensive approach and taking advantage of the field placing. Shreyas Iyer was bounced out in the first ODI by Josh Hazlewood while the India batsman scored a well-placed 38 before a Steve Smith blinder affected his dismissal the second ODI vs Australia. "I am really happy that they are coming up with a plan (against me)," Shreyas Iyer said on the eve of the third ODI vs Australia. "I feel overwhelmed and take it as a challenge. But I thrive under pressure and it motivates me to go against them. I feel it (a short leg and leg gully) helps to take advantage and score more runs and make the best use of it," Iyer said. "It's all about the mindset that you need to adjust. How you need to place yourself on the wicket. Rather than bending down too much (during stance), you stand upright. It is easier to pick up the short one. I have set a pattern for myself. Every time I play, I give myself a little bit of time and get set. If they come up with that field (for the short ball), I get aggressive as well. Because that kind of field is easy to manipulate," Iyer added. Iyer revealed that he was confused about the shot selection.
