Joined Shiv Sena because impressed by Thackeray's handling of Covid crisis: Urmila

Mumbai, Dec 1 Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar, who joined the Shiv Sena today, praised the Uddhav Thackeray government for its handling of the Covid crisis. Speaking at a press conference after joining Shiv Sena, Urmila Matondkar said, "The year gone by was difficult for Maharashtra. The Maharashtra government has done a great job. And CM Uddhav Thackeray has done a great job. I am very impressed by his work and also wanted to work with him." She also revealed she had received a call from Uddhav Thackeray himself to join the Shiv Sena. Urmila Matondkar also confirmed that her name has been suggested as a nominee to the Maharashtra Legislative Council by the Shiv Sena. Talking about her nomination for the MLC post, Urmila Matondkar said, "While offering me an MLC seat, Uddhav ji said that Maharashtra's legislature needs more representation from culture and arts. I completely respect that." "I have been told that my name is recommended (to the governor) for the post of MLC.
