New Delhi, Nov 29 Hosts Australia, after their 51-run win in the 2nd ODI at the SCG, have taken an unassailable lead against India in the 3- match ODI series. Aaron Finch once again won the toss and elected to bat first, in the 2nd ODI. Steve Smith scored his second consecutive century against India and helped the hosts set up a massive target of 389 at the Syndey Cricket Ground (SCG), on Sunday. Team India captain Virat Kohli was finally able to break his Sydney jinx as he scored his first halfcentury at this venue after 6 failed innings. Kohli topscored for India with an 87-ball 89 and narrowly missed out on scoring his 71st international hundred. Both Kohli and former Australia captain Ricky Ponting have the joint-highest number of hundreds (41) as captain across formats. However, Kohli failed to chase down the gigantic target of 390 as India fell 51 runs short against Australia. India have now lost 6 out of 8 ODIs, under Kohli's captaincy, played in 2020. Consequently, fans have questioned the brand of cricket that India is following under the leadership of Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri. Fans have demanded a change in leadership and asked for Rohit Sharma to be named captain in limited- overs. Here's how Twitter reacted after the ODI series defeat: Fans are clearly frustrated with India's.
