CBJ produced Charge-sheet against cheat in Court of Law

Jammu, Oct 23 Crime Branch Jammu produced preliminary charge-sheet against accused vizMohd Syed Shah S/O Bhaw-Ud-Din Shah R/O Budshami Nagar, Natipura Srinagar at present Dangiwacha Baramulla in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu and is further committed to Hon’ble Court of Ld. Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu, in case FIR No. 47/2019 U/S 420 RPC of P/S Crime Branch Jammu. The accused is presently under judicial custody after his arrest was affected by Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in duping unemployed youth of Jammu of an amount of Rs. 7 Lacs on the pretext of arranging Govt. Jobs. In a written complaint lodged by the complainants Vikas Sharma S/O Kulwant Raj R/O Sungal Tehsil Akhnoor Pardeep Kumar S/O Bodh Raj R/O Sandal Tehsil Chowki-choura Sanjay S/O Lal Chand R/O Mawa Brahmana Akhnoor District Jammu with Crime Branch, Jammu, alleging therein that being unemployed they had paid in cash Rs. 2.50 lacs Rs. 2.50 lacs and Rs. 2.00 lac respectively to the accused namely Mohd. Syed Shah S/O Bhaw-ud-Din Shah, R/O Budshami Nagar, Natipora, Srinagar, who claimed to be working on the post of Agriculture Assistant in J&K Agriculture Department, for arranging their appointments on permanent basis in Secretariat at Srinagar, but neither the accused got them appointed as promised nor did he return their money. As per procedure in vogue Crime Branch Jammu initiated a preliminary verification against the accused and during enquiry the allegations were prima-facie substantiated. Accordingly the instant case was registered under the relevant sections of law. During investigation, it was revealed that accused Mohd. Syed Shah S/o Bhaw-Ud-Din Shah R/o Drugmulla Kupwara had cheated the complainants by impersonation and posing himself as Agriculture Asstt. and the complainants were duped of their hard earned money to the tune of Rs. 07 lacs fraudulently on the pretext of arranging Govt. job for them. Sufficient evidences have been collected against the said accused in the instant case. The accused has been arrested on 26.08.2020, who is under Judicial custody and lodged in District Jail Amphalla, Jammu on judicial remand. Crime Branch Jammu has also contested his bail application which was then rejected by the Court of law.
