KL Rahul has done very well as a captain: Brian Lara

New Delhi, Oct 20 West Indies legend Brian Lara was full of praises for KL Rahul, saying he is really impressed by Kings XI Punjab captain and love the way he bats. Brian Lara said he would want KL Rahul on his Test, ODI and T20 teams. Rahul continues to be in excellent form and remains in front in the race for the Orange Cap with 525 runs from 9 games. In fact, since April 2018, KL Rahul (1777) has accumulated the most number of runs, including a record 19 fifties, in the IPL. The second in this list, veteran India opener Shikhar Dhawan (359* runs this ongoing season), is 400 runs away with 1377 runs. David Warner had missed the entire IPL 2018 season due to his Cricket Australia ban and he is still on 1023 runs in the same span. "He's my test batsman, he's my 50-over batsman and he's my T20 batsman," Brian Lara said on Star Sports. "As a captain, he has done very well. I love the way he bats, love the way he puts them together. Yes he struggled to finish off matches towards the beginning but now he’s looking to improve that too," Lara.
