Vijaypur, Sept 28 Alleging brazen disregard for the concerns of unemployed and underemployed youth by the present regime, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister reiterated the resolve of Panthers Party to take the fight for Jammu to each and every nook and corner of J&K. He said that the educated unemployed youth was neglected not only during BJP-PDP regime but the Centre too seems to have abdicated its responsibility towards the younger generation by failing to fulfill its repeated promises and slogans. Never before had the youth felt so humiliated and betrayed as during the BJP led government which seemed to be completely averse to their woes and sufferings. He was addressing a youth gathering at Vijaypur where more than 60 youth joined NPP during the “Rozgar Ka Vaada Poora Karo” Abhiyan launched by the party. He was accompanied by Yashpaul Kundal State President Young Panthers and Surinder Chauhan District President Jammu(Rural). Highlighting the pathetic plight of the educated youth of J&K, Singh said that BJP led govt. had announced to create 50,000 posts immediately after Reorganization of J&K with absorption of the educated youth against the said posts on fast track basis. It was followed by another announcement in Budget Session of Parliament in February this year regarding 50,000 creations of new jobs. Not only were the youth cheated in the name of employment package but the existing vacancies were also allowed to remain unfilled, and all the announcements made in the past had remained restricted to the confines of lip service, said Singh. Ruing that large scale terminations and retrenchments both in govt and private sectors were witnessed in Saffron regime, he divulged while the employees of Health Department appointed under SRO-24, the education employees appointed under SMAGRA, the high qualified contractual lecturers and teachers and Information Department employees were terminated in the most arbitrary manner, the recent order disbanding the Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Engineers had further rendered around 15000 professionals jobless. Similar was the plight of the Pharmacists and Medical Assistants numbering around 20,000 whose diplomas were not being recognized after conversion of State to UT on the plea of new rules having been extended to J&K despite the fact that they had completed their diploma courses from State recognized Para-medical institutes. The plight of Daily Rated Workers, Contractuals, Anganwari & ASHA workers, NHM and MGNREGA employees besides Rehber-e-Khel, NYCs, NYVs and CLTEs of H&UD department is equally pathetic with none to address their concerns thereby resulting in massive outrage amongst the affected youth, anguished Harsh revealed. Raising the issue of border youth in particular, Singh said that while the residents of areas adjoining International Border are entitled to reservation in government jobs as per the revised rules, the eligible youth continue to be harassed by the concerned officials in issuance of such certificates of Residents of International Border (RIB). The youth residing on IB are already feeling cheated as they are made to share the already existing 3% reservation for LoC residents without providing them separate quota or even enhancing the existing quota. And now the difficulties faced by them in getting all prescribed documents from revenue officials had made it almost impossible to get the RIB certificates, said Singh. Referring to the plight of farmers, he said that the peasant fraternity of Jammu region remained most marginalized sect under BJP rule. He said that the farmers were not paid even a single penny as compensation towards their perished crops due to rains and deluge despite their shrill cries. Yashpaul Kundal, while appealing to the people to support Panthers Party with open hearts, cautioned the BJP government to fulfil its promises to provide employment to the youth or else get ready to face the earth shaking consequences.
