New Delhi, Sep 25 In the 7th fixture of IPL 2020, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings have locked horns with Shreyas Iyer’s Delhi Capitals. Dhoni, who has a wonderful record in tosses since the 2018 IPL edition, won the toss yet again against Shreyas Iyer on Friday as the two captains met at the Dubai International Stadium ahead of their first clash of the season. As Dhoni decided to bowl first, he explained that it is important to respect the conditions that the teams are playing in despite what the results might have showcased so far. The CSK skipper also clarified that his batting position will depend on what’s better for his team. Chennai have left out Lungi Ngidi to make way for Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood. “We'll bowl first. I think we need to respect the conditions and the fact that dew will play a part. Maybe the teams batting second so far in the tournament have made mistakes to not win. It looks better to bat second on TV. Some of the wickets might slow down as the tournament progresses. When you have 14 games before the play-offs you can't win all games. We need to control the controllables better, and one of them were the no balls. We also did well to get to 200 in the last game. One change - Ngidi misses out and Hazlewood comes in. As fas as my batting position goes, I'll do whatever is best for the team,” Dhoni said at the toss ahead of clash against DC. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer is making his 26th appearance as the skipper of the franchise and has hence overhauled Gambhir’s record of 25 matches as Delhi’s captain in the IPL. Iyer, the second-most capped Delhi captain.
