New Delhi, Aug 4 Chennai Super Kings superstar Suresh Raina has been training hard in Ghaziabad in preparation for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, which will be played in the United Arab Emirates from September 19. Raina has been sweating it out and been posting regular videos from his practice sessions, as he gears up for a return to competitive action after 4- 5 months. The coronavirus pandemic forced all sports to go into a forced break in March. IPL 2020 will mark the return of Indian cricket even though it won't be played in the country because of the Covid-19 crisis here. Raina will be joining his Chennai teammates for a camp in the UAE, at least 15-20 days before the start of the tournament. “We are going to have a camp. We have lots to do, we are going there I think 18-20 days before. It is good to go early because IPL is coming and we have been under lockdown for 4-5 months. So, it is good to be there before IPL and it is going to be exciting,” Raina said on Star Sports’ chat show Cricket Connected. Dehi Capitals star Rishabh Pant has also been training with Raina in Ghaziabad. Raina said Pant has been hitting the ball well and called for his teammates to take care of the maverick wicketkeeper- batsman. “I have been practising with Rishabh Pant. He was hitting the ball very well. Then I had a net with Shami. All bowlers have been coming here and practising. Piyush Chawla also came, he bowled really well. "I think Rishabh Pant has been amazing. He has scored a lot of runs for the country as well as in the IPL and in domestic cricket. He has got two Test hundreds. He played really well in T20s as well as ODIs. “I think he is a gun player, he has a quality future. He needs to be really looked after by his teammates. And then you will see lot of great performances coming from him very soon,” Raina added. He also disclosed what some of his other CSK teammates are doing to keep themselves fit and healthy ahead of the IPL. "I have been speaking to a lot of the players, everything has been planned. Deepak Chahar has been playing and MS Dhoni.
