NPP protestsagainst large scale bungling in Education Deptt

Jammu, July 15 Agitated by the total collapse of the educational system in J&K with massive cases of corrupt malpractices in illegal transfers, attachments, adjustments and promotions in Education Department coming to fore, the activists of NPP led by Robin Sharma District President (Kathua) staged a vociferous protest demonstration at Shahidi Chowk in Kathua district headquarters today. While raising slogans against the Director DSEJ, the angry protesters burnt the effigy to express their resentment. Speaking to the media, Robin Sharma regretted that thousands of employees including the teachers, Masters, Lecturers and even ReTs had been attached in the office of DSEJ, CEOs, ZEOs, Tehsildars in entire Jammu division which had led to acute deficiency of teaching staff in the schools located in far flung villages. “With several of them having become virtually defunct, the teachers, masters and lecturers transferred and attached in these offices and urban schools were ironically drawing their salaries for doing nothing. The wholesale attachments had been made by DSEJ in each district of Jammu Division on extraneous considerations by brazenly flouting all transfer guidelines and norms.”, Robin said. He further stated that thousands of such incumbents who had been attached in the city schools and other offices were drawing HRA without any justification. Isn’t this a HRA scam worth crores? Isn’t a loot of public exchequer?, Robin asked. Revealing the act of brazen omissions and commissions committed by DSEJ, he said that hundreds of promotions of teachers/masters as incharge lecturers in 10 +2 were made even for those who were holding invalid degrees. He further stated that in flagrant defiance of the directives issued by the Principal Secretary School Education and Supreme Court orders, more than 250 invalid degree holders in science subjects through distant mode had been adjusted in Jammu division by the DSEJ till date. “This act of DSEJ reflects glaring example of nepotism as she had to adjust her brother in law (Jeth) as Lecturer in physics namely Rajesh Gupta figuring at S.No.52 of promotion order who is holding invalid post graduate degree in physics from Vinayaka Mission university .At present he is working at DIET Samba as lecturer physics. Moreover, she has also transferred her sister in law (Jethani) who has been working as ReT from Ramnagar to Ramkot being a home town in blatant violation of the rules’, revealed Robin. He demanded high level probe against the erring bureaucrat for her involvement in corrupt practices besides immediate revocation of all the appointments done on the basis of invalid degrees besides cancellation of all illegal transfers and promotions of the teachers done by the DSEJ in circumvention of prescribed guide lines and rules.
