20k Rainbow Trout seed stocked at Chawalgam TRU

YB News Kulgam, July 7 Trout Rearing Unit at Chawalgam, Kulgam was today made operational and stocking of trout fish seed was conducted by District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat. On the occasion 20,000 fingerlings of Rainbow Trout variety were stocked in the unit and it was informed that the unit shall be capable of producing 04 tonnes of trout fish annually. It was also given out that during the year 2019-20 district produced 35 tonnes of fish and all steps are afoot to boost the fisheries sector in the district which is blessed with plenty of water resources. Among others Assistant Director Fisheries and other officers and staff members of the department were present on the occasion.
