Largest bag of crisps: Corkers Crisps breaks Guinness world record

Corkers Crisps, based at Little Downham, near Ely, filled a bag almost as tall as a house with more than a tonne of its potato snacks; the bag of crisps is 760 cm x 380 cm holding a massive 1 tonne of crisps, setting the new world record for the Largest bag of crisps (potato chips. The Guinness World Records' for the largest packet of crisps (potato chips) weighed 51.35 kg (113 lb 3 oz) and was made by Seabrook Potato Crisps Ltd, Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK. Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest collection of crisp packets (potato chips), set by Bernd Sikora (Germany), who has 1,482 crisp packets from 43 countries that he has been collecting since 1993. Managing director Rod Garnham said it was a "huge amount of hard work", taking more than 20 hours to complete. The sea-salt flavoured crisps were fried during the night and loaded on to a lift before being dropped into the bag, which is 18ft (5.5m) high.
