Mayor visits Goshalla Amphalla, kick-starts development works

Jammu, July 01 Continuing the drive to provide better development and Civic amenities to the people of Jammu City, Chander Mohan Gupta Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation today visited Goshalla situated at Amphalla Jammu of Ward No.17 and kick-started the construction work of drains and installation of tiles there. Nidhi Magotra councilor of the concerned Ward, Balwan Singh Senior BJP leader, Inhabitants of Amphalla & surrounding localities Raj Kumar Langer (Raja) caretaker of Goshalla alongwith other members, Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer, Ram Lal Assistant Executive Engineer, Sushil Mangotra, Junior Engineer of division No.11 concerned contractor were also present during the visit of Mayor. Mayor was apprised by the concerned engineering wing that the development works in terms of construction of drains as well as laying of tiles within the vicinity of cowshalla was delayed only due to corona virus lockdown and non-availability of workers/labourers as well as shortage of required number of construction material. An amount of Rs 7.33 lacs has already been allotted for the execution of these development works on the demands of councilor of the ward and representatives of cowshalla. Mayor and Deputy Mayor told the gathering that it is one of the oldest & religious Goshalla of Jammu city and also appreciated the initiatives & works done under the supervision of Raj Kumar Langer for further improving the overall condition of this prestigious Goshalla as stray and sick cows are properly looked after and given best medical treatment whenever required. Mayor directed the engineering division to expedite the development work started & complete it with in stipulated time period upto the satisfaction of Goshalla management with best quality material so that it will become a modern Goshalla of Jammu and also appeal to the prominent citizens to donate as much as possible so that other left over facilities be made available for the more betterment of the Goshalla.
