New Delhi, June 1 Dinesh Karthik, captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, has had several achievements for India but it is blistering cameo in the final moments of the Nidahas Trophy that has really ensured him a spot in cricketing folklore. Not surprisingly then that Rohit Sharma, the only cricketer in history with 3 double hundreds in one-day internationals, invoked memories of that sterling effort 2 years ago. Wishing Dinesh Karthik on his 35th birthday, Rohit Sharma, who leads Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, thanked DK for the memorable knock in the final of the Nidahas Trophy. Rohit Sharma was the India captain for the Nidahas Trophy after Virat Kohli had opted to rest following the tour of South Africa. The triseries in Sri Lanka included India and Bangladesh and there was little doubt India were the favourites even without a few of their top guns. However, Bangladesh had India in a spot of bother in the final before Dinesh Karthik walked into the middle and his breathtaking strokeplay took India to a famous victory. Dinesh Karthik continued to be a part of Indian teams across formats and was even named in the 2019 World Cup.
