‘Implementation of reservation in promotion for SC/ST govt. employees sought’

YB News Jammu, June 1 Seeking implementation of reservation in promotion for the govt. employees belonging to SC/ST categories, Mr. Yashpaul Kundal ex-MLA and former Minister along with Mr. Gagan Pratap Singh State Secretary JKNPP submitted a detailed memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu. Yashpaul Kundal apprised the LG that notwithstanding the repeated assurances given by the Prime Minister to deliver justice and rights to the downtrodden communities, the nationalist SCs and STs had always been deprived of their privileges by the previous governments. He submitted that with the struggle of employees of the categories in question and the various Political Parties, the Central Cabinet agreed to pass enactment thereto in the Parliament in 2018 thus making the proceed of reservation in appointments by promotion in respect of SC&ST Categories. On the persuasion of erstwhile government of J&K State, the Govt of India got an ordinance issued by the President of India as the State Assembly was in suspended animation. But unfortunately, the then Governor’s administration of the State did not bring the same to effect, Kundal added. He sought immediate intervention of the LG to facilitate the implementation of Reservation in promotion to the employees of the said categories in conformity with the rules framed by the Govt.of India and applicable in the UT of J&K. Yashpaul Kundal further sought the release of Special Component plan to TSP for the effective developmental works pertaining to basic civic amenities.
