YB News SrinagarJune 1 BJP’s Kashmir unit Monday said that owners of diagnostic centers and private hospitals should not be harassed unnecessarily anymore, rather they should be allowed to work under given SOP’s by the government. Party’s Media in-charge, Manzoor Bhat in a statement said that owners of diagnostic centers and private hospitals are being harassed and their centers are being sealed by the district administrations. He said despite having Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) issued by the Director of Health Services Kashmir their centers are being sealed and forcing them to undergo various difficulties. “BJP Kashmir’s helpline received many distressed calls from the various diagnostic center and private hospital owners that they are being unnecessarily harassed by the authorities in several parts of the valley,” he said. Bhat also termed it unfortunate that various diagnostic centers have been sealed over the past, one week and such incidents are taking place when there is a need for such facilities to contain the spread of Coronavirus. “Health care is the backbone of every society and harassing them will lead administration in more trouble and such things should be repeated in future,” he said. According to the Bhat, the authorities should focus this time on controlling the pandemic spread rather than harassing the diagnostic centers and private hospital owners. “They should be given a smooth working atmosphere and advised to follow the SOP’s that have been issued by the concerned health department,” he said. Bhat said sealing or closing any institution can add more burden to government hospitals which are already overburdened due to current health challenges. “Private health sector has played a key role during any situation. They have worked in 2014, 2016, and 2019 years along with their government counterparts and during the pandemic, they have also adhered to all the advisories issued by the government,” he said. He also urged diagnostic owners to adhere to SOP’s issued by the health department, so that no one can stop you from performing your professional duties. Bhat also appealed Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu and Divisional Commissioner PK Pole to look into the issue, otherwise, it can create more trouble during the prevailing situation.
