Harmanpreet wary of 'silly mistakes' as India storm into semi-finals

Melbourne, Feb 27 Harmanpreet Kaur was ecstatic after her team progressed to the semi-final of Women's T20 World Cup 2020 but the India captain was quick to highlight the shortcomings on Thursday. India beat New Zealand in a last-over thriller by 4 runs in their Group A match at the Junction Oval in Melbourne. With 3 wins from as many matches, Harmanpreet's girls became the 1st team to reach the last four at Women's T20 World Cup in Australia. Harmanpreet Kaur though pointed out that India can't keep making 'silly mistakes' if they are to go the distance in the World Cup. Shafali Verma was once again the star of India's otherwise ordinary batting show as the teenage opener took the New Zealand attack to the cleaners, hitting 46 from just 34 balls. However, India suffered another middle-order collapse as they went from 80 for 2 in 11 overs to 133 for 8 in 20 overs. Over the last 2 years, lack of fight from the lower-middle order after a strong top-order performance has let the team down, more often than not. However, in the ongoing tournament, India have managed to get past the finish line with some strong bowling and fielding performances.
