Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), formerly Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law Institute, is a Public law institute located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. As one of the Autonomous law schools in India, it is regarded as a premier law school in country.Dr. RMLNLU was established in the year 2005, and since then, has been providing undergraduate and post-graduate legal education. It has been ranked among the top law institutes in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Ministry of Human Resource Development in recent years.[1] The University is fully funded by the state government. The University has a fully urban campus and a good infrastructure and has one of the best campuses across all National Law Universities. It is a residential institute with a campus of 42 acres. Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralised test for admission to prominent National Law Universities in India. All admissions in RMLNLU, for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs are made on the basis of performance in the CLAT exam. The opening rank for CLAT 2018 for Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University was AIR 47. Although the institute does not has recognition for being the best institute out there for corporate placements but is the preferred choice for candidates wanting to pursue a career in litigation, civil services or judicial services owing to the sheer amount of creative freedom you enjoy compared to other NLUs. While other NLUs may have a trimester system, RMLNLU only has two end-semester exams in an academic year thereby giving you considerable freedom to develop your own soft skills, legal knowledge or research papers as you may desire.
