But Gill has brushed aside any thoughts of competition with Shaw on Thursday stressing that it is entirely up to the team management who they choose to play alongside Mayank Agarwal to open the Indian innings. Gill who was included in the Indian Test squad after an injury to regular opener Rohit Sharma ruled him out of the series, said that his experience of having played in these conditions should come handy once he gets a chance to play. Gill had scored 527 runs including 204* in the 5 games he played for India A earlier on the tour. "I am ready for the series as I have enough match practice.
