New Delhi, Jan 27 Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar said he has been noticing new confidence in India fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah with the way they have been operating in the ongoing New Zealand T20I series. Akhtar said Bumrah and Shami have started to instill fear in the minds of opposition batsmen and that the New Zealand batsmen underestimated the India pacers in the 2nd T20I in Auckland on Sunday. Akhtar's comments came after Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah came up with gun spells against New Zealand during India's comfortable 7-wicket win. While Bumrah picked up the wicket of Ross Taylor he also hit Kane Williamson on the helmet. The India pace spearhead finished with figures of 1/22 while Shami went wicketless but gave away only 22 runs in his 4-over spell. Ravindra Jadeja shone with the ball as he picked up 2 wickets as India restricted New Zealand to 132 for 5 in 20 overs. "Have seen a new confidence from Bumrah and Shami as they have now started to create fear in the opposition batsmen," Shoaib Akhtar said in a YouTube video. "Also, Ravindra Jadeja doesn't let you score runs and bowls some odd spins which and tests the batsmen. New Zealand underestimated the Indian pacers, they were committing too soon and hence, the ball took the edge, they even got hit on their head." Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar also said India are becoming a ruthless team but wondered if they are any worthy opponents who can challenge their dominant run in world cricket. Akhtar pointed out India and Pakistan used to dominate the dominant Australian teams from the 1990s and 2000s. "At present India is dominating the world onesided. But what will happen to other teams? What will happen to world cricket?" Akhtar said. "When Australia dominated world cricket, at least India and Pakistan showed fight and tried to compete. However, what we are seeing in New Zealand.
