Army organises Shaheed Sub Onkar Singh memorial half marathon

Y B News Akhnoor, Jan 20 Army organised Shaheed Sub Onkar Singh Memorial Half Marathon for the youth of Khour Tehsil.The event was organized in the memory of Sub Onkar Singh of Dogra Regiment hailing from village Dehrian Bagri, Teh Khour who attained martyrdom during the Indo Pak War of 1971. A total of 314 youth of age groups 14 yrs to 24 yrs participated in the event which had three different categories of 21 km, 10 km and 5 km Half Marathon runs. The response and participation shown by the populace for the Marathon exhibited the bonhomie existing between the Army and the people of the region.The local dignitaries expressed their gratitude to the Army in its endeavors towards motivating the youth of the region and involving them in mainstream activities.
