JHULAKA MOHALLA RESIDENTS RUE WATER SCARCITY

The residents of Jhulaka Mohalla, Ward No 2 of Jammu Municipal Corporation have rued water scarcity in their area. While speaking to Young Bites team the locals alleged that they are forced to drink contaminated water supplied by PHE. They further said that earlier they were getting water supply from Peerkho but the PHE department has now transferred that supply to Gandola forcing us to drink contaminated water. The residents Anmol Sharma, Vijay Sharma and Rajesh Khosla said that Ward Counsellor has addressed many issues of Jhulaka Mohalla like lightning, repairing of lanes and drains, issue of garbage but notwithstanding repeating requests and reminders the issue of supply of drinking water remains unresolved. When contacted, Ward Counsellor, Jagdish Kumar Sharma said that he has already raised the issue with the concerned department. But the repairing and laying of new water pipeline is a mega exercise which requires huge funding and time. The PHE department has adopted dilly-delaying tactics to my request and now I will raise the issue at higher officials.
