BDC chairpersons meet held at Reasi head quarter

HIMANSHU SHARMA Reasi, Nov 20 In order to acquaint the newly elected BDC chairpersons of the district with functionaries of various departments, an introductory meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, InduKanwalChib here today. Welcoming the chairpersons, the DDC said that the elected members, Rural Development Department and the district administration need to work in sync with one another for rapid development of rural areas. She also instructed the BDOs to brief the chairpersons with guidelines of all major schemes of the government and to hold a oneto- one meeting between the BDOs and the chairpersons on monthly basis. The elected chairpersons were also assured of being provided with office space soon. The DDC also asked the chairpersons to hold meetings with line departments in future in their respective blocks. Speaking on second phase of Back to Village programme, which is to start from November 25 this year, the DDC advised the chairpersons to act as a bridge between panchayats and the government and to make the second phase another great success. The BDC chairpersons also expressed their views and thanked the DDC for holding the meeting. Those present at the meeting also included Assistant Commissioner Development, Sunil Sharma and District Panchayat Officer, Parvider Kaur among all Block Development Officer of district Reasi.
