CS reviews resolution of issues of public importance

Jammu, Nov 8 Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam today chaired a video conference with the Divisional and District Administration to review issues of public importance. Chief Secretary exhorted the DCs to reach out to the public for prompt resolution of their grievances and ensure that their grievances are addressed in a time bound manner. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and other senior officers attended the meeting. Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Kashmir and Jammu Divisions participated in the meeting through video conference. Chief Secretary lauded the efforts of Divisional Administration, Jammu for retrieving State land which can be put to better use for larger public good. He appreciated the anti- encroachment drive by the District Administration Samba during which a significant chunk of State land was retrieved from encroachers. While complimenting the District Administration Ramban and Reasi for resolution of all land acquisition and other issues in the Katra- Banihal section of the Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) Project, Chief Secretary observed that the efforts of the J&K Government in the early restoration of these issues has been acknowledged during the PRAGATI on 6th of November, 2019. Chief Secretary also reviewed the preparations with regard to launching of the second phase of the Back to Village (B2V) Programme later this month, modalities of which are being worked out by the Planning Development & Monitoring Department and Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj. The first phase of B2VP was launched in June, 2019. Based on extensive interactions with the people, spot observations and feedback received from the public, government officials submitted a Panchayat wise report to the Government highlighting the requirements of various halqa Panchayats. The launching of the second phase of B2V Programme will help to assess the progress of resolution of priority issues of a Panchayat for which Rs 5 Crore have been released to each District.
