Navratra Festival: Devotional Song Competition concludes

ANANYA FROM UDHAMPUR EMERGES WINNER

Katra, Oct 8 The All India Devotional Song Competition, being held as part of the Navratra Festival 2019, concluded here today amid great fanfare at Yog Ashram Complex. Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In a close competition, the top position was bagged by Ananya Sharma from Udhampur, thereby securing a recording contract with Venus Records & Tapes Ltd besides winning gold worth Rs 3 lakh. The second spot was held by Pranbha Sharma from Jammu while Simran Singh from Amritsar got the third prize. The two bagged gold worth Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50 thousand respectively. Among the finalists, 5 belonged to J&K while the rest had come from other parts of the country. The Div Com, while speaking on the occasion, complimented the organisers for the holding such a mega religious event and expressed gratitude to the people and organizations for extending their cooperation and contribution towards success of the annual programme. He also lauded the prominent Bollywood personalities for their support and participation in the event. Former Advisor and the brain behind the event, Parvez Dewan, expressed satisfaction and happiness over the growing success of this event. Director Tourism Jammu, Deepika Sharma, said that live telecast of the event has not only provided platform to the budding singers but this gave vast publicity to the event all over the world. Renowned bollywood singer Maanat Noor, known for song Tu Laun Main Elaaichi, and former winners Sonali Dogra, Naveen Punjabi and Ravi Kumar also performed during the event. Pahlaj Nihalani, Chairman and MD Venus Records & Tapes Ltd, Ganesh Jain, singer Mannat Noor of Tu Laung Main Elaaichi fame, filmmakers Rishi Raj and Kumar Mohan, Vice President Zee Network, Barkha Arora, Dr CL Verma and Dr Surinder Kumar Sharma adjudged the performances of the day. Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib; DIG, Sujit Kumar; SSP Reasi, Rashmi Wazir; Commandant 6th Battalion of CRPF, Jitendra Kumar; SDM Katra, Ashok Kumar; CAO SMVD Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Dr MM Harjai and President Hotel Association of Katra, Rakesh Wazir also witnessed the show among massive crowd of locals and devotees. The show was jointly organised by SMVD Shrine Board and Department of Tourism, J&K Bank and Shraddha Mh One with active support of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialist Hospital, Surya Milk, Tiwari Super Speciality Hospital Farokhabad, Pure Roots Herbal, Nidesh Builders Pvt. Ltd. Jammu, Divinity, 92.7 Big FM, Yog Ashram Trust, District Administration Reasi and the local community.
