Dilapidated Surankote-Bufliaz road await adm’s attention

Jammu and Kashmir being the hilly state witnesses frequent accidents which have claimed more lives than terrorism according to a report.
The vehicles plying in hilly terrains met with accidents due to negligence of drivers, overloading and in majority of cases the dilapidated condition of roads is responsible for the same. Moreover, the development of any area is directly linked with the proper road connectivity.
In Poonch district there are many roads which requires immediate repair to avert such accidents. One of such road is Surankote-Bufliaz road which is in dilapidated condition and the authorities are in deep slumber over the issue.
According to locals frequent accidents take place as the condition of the road is not good enough for smooth vehicular movement. They alleged that despite repeated requests and reminders to various quarters nothing has been done so far.
According to locals thousands of people travel daily via this road to reach their destinations which include students, patients etc.
The locals have further urged the District Development Commissioner, Poonch, to direct the concern authorities to immediately start blacktopping of this stretch to make it motorable. The locals further threatened to ‘Gherao’ office of the Deputy Commissioner if their demand was not met.
