MA stadium to get All Weather swimming pool

The MA Stadium of Jammu is all set to get All Weather swimming pool which is likely to be thrown open anytime once the Model Code of Conducted is lifted.
According to reports from reliable source Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik, has sanction Rs 3.5 Crore to make the all weather swimming pool functional which was the long pending demand of the swimmers of Jammu.
Pertinent to mention that the swimming pool of MA Stadium Jammu has been constructed as per the parameters of Olympic standards but it was closed for swimming during winters following lack of facilities. The swimmers had to wait for six months once it gets closed during winters.
Now with the sanction of the above mentioned sum the work on the all weather swimming pool is in progress and is expected to be thrown open shortly after the lifting of MCC.
The swimming pool will be covered with the poly carbonate sheets for roofing and heating elements would be installed to keep the water warm during winters so that the players and other swimmers could take advantage of the all weather swimming pool.
The source said that the Governor has taken keen interest in promoting sports in Jammu region and had sanctioned a huge amount to the Sports Council for the upgradation of the MA Stadium.
